DR OLSON'S ADVICE FOR A HEALTHY 2012

  • Wear seat belts. Wear an ear-piece with cell phone.
  • Walk 30-45 minutes/day - it is anti-aging, processes angst, and prevents disease.
  • Eat veggies, fruits, & berries every day. Avoid microwaving food in plastic containers.
  • Avoid fried, processed foods, partly hydrogenated fats, & high fructose corn syrup.
  • Take a multivitamin with minerals and omega 3 fatty acids.
  • Get 15 minutes of sun, or take 1000 IU of vitamin D3 per day.
  • Have small portions. Experience and observe hunger.
  • Drink fluids, water is good. Our bodies are 70% water.
  • Don’t smoke, have teeth cleaned & floss regularly.
  • Keep a regular schedule & a good environment for sleep.
  • Don’t go to sleep angry. Journal your feelings & record your dreams.
  • Seek bright light in AM and dark and quiet at night.
  • Stimulate your mind. Read & discuss books.
  • Expect good treatment from others. Don’t curse, this is toxic.
  • Honor your feelings - they are valid. Express them.
  • You cannot change others' actions, but you CAN change your reaction to them.
  • Wish others well and treat all with positive regard.
  • Practice compassion and impeccable speech for yourself and others.
  • Take time to grieve your loss. This helps you heal.
  • Schedule doing more of what makes you happy. Have the courage to change what is not good. Uncertainty creates possibilities.
  • Find your passion, make goals. Take responsibility for your choices. Keep promises.
  • Plan more. Save more. Avoid debt.
  • Seek beauty in your life. Actively find and feel the abundance in your life.
  • Have an attitude of gratitude. Reuse, Recycle, Rejoice.
  • Do what is right because it is the right action, not because of who is watching.
  • Aim to be present, awake, and authentic in all you do.   
  • Take daily time to be with your self & your breath.
